An electrical installation condition report (EICR) is a really important document to have and is often neglected. They should be carried out every five years to ensure the safety of your home electrics. Nowadays it is very common and becoming even more so for insurance companies to decline claims if a valid and up to date EICR cannot be provided by the homeowner. If any faults or defects are found during the inspection, they will be graded from C1 to C3 depending on the severity, so you absolutely know what action is required.
Estimated report times
- One bedroom home - 2 hours.
- Two bedroom home - 2 hours 15 minutes.
- Three bedroom home - 2 hours 30 minutes.
- Four bedroom home - 3 hours.
- Five bedroom home - 3 hours 30 minutes.
- Off peak heating - 1 hours 15 minutes.
- Garage or outbuilding - 1 hour 15 minutes.
EICR's can be rescheduled or cancelled up to 12 hours before selected booking time.
Appointment times are the start of a two hour window. Engineers will call before arrival and keep you updated throughout the day.
For best results access should be made available to all electrical outlets with furniture moved prior to visit.
Access to the fuseboard is essential so if this area should also be cleared of any obstacles beforehand.
